summer of stash
Is starting to get a lot harder! Everywhere I go yard saling, I see yarn at yard sales. I did see some wool yesterday, but I couldn't get the woman to go down cheap enough in her price. It was about a pound of vintage wool for $10. Still a good price, but too much for me. So, no yarn to come home with me yesterday for charity. I did come home with a stack of needles, however - some straights (which I don't use but seem to bring home with me anyways), a circ in a size I didn't have, and a ton of double points, which I can always use more of - 22 metal from size 1-4, and about 50 plastic, which I mainly don't use, but are handy for going through metal detectors :).
Stash knitting is failing pretty miserably, as far as my planned projects are concerned. I've tried using up some woolease & haven't gotten too far. Haven't touched my lustersheen at all yet. I did knit up a CIC shawl using odd balls of mohair, knit up 2 fair isle wool vests for CIC (on a 3rd) & crocheted a wool one as well, and a pair of toddler socks with a couple more on the needles.
Does anyone want to trade for that black/gray cotton chenille yarn? I'll gladly post photos if anyone wants it. I don't remember off hand how much I have, but it's certainly enough to make a top for someone, or a ton of dishclothes or something. I also have some mohair in blues/white/and a bit of leftover variaged blues/pinks/green & a bit of leftover yellow. Again not sure how much I have leftover, but I can take photos & double check if anyone is interested. The white was 85% mohair, I believe, and the blues was like 50% mohair, something like 35% wool & the rest was nylon. I'd ideally like to trade for plain ole wool for CIC (scrap is fine), sock yarn (scraps are fine, I'll use it for CIC), or circ needles in sizes 3 & 4 (24 or 16 inches) or 11-15 (16 & 24 inches). But if you've got old stash you are looking to get rid of, let me know what it is & we'll see what we can do.

You know, some of those extra needles could go to CIC, they do take needles and yarn with them for some of the older kids to knit with. It might be worth asking them about it.
I know they take double points, but since I collect them, I don't want to send them- I'm greedy. I'm not sure about straights, since I have so many of them if they can use them, I could definitely send them some. I'll have to ask Elizabeth.
