topflappen !

... the sky is falling ! does it count as a stashbuster if you only use 31 grams of cotton?! the yellow for the body is dale's kolibri, and the other chicken parts are double stranded embroidery floss. i tried my best to embroider the eyes, but i could not manage to get them to come out the same, so i popped in some plastic safety eyes instead ... which, probably will make this wall art vs. a usable pot holder.

the pattern is from a booklet by annie's attic, the _ultimate book of pot holders_ , book #873151. peaches & creme yarn is used for most of the designs. since i don't have any of that in my stash, i substituted. the kolibri is a finer gauge, so, my chicken isn't as large as the sample in the booklet.
for stashbusting, i am starting to lean more towards smaller projects. i will continue to work on my aran afghan, but i need to see more progress with quicker to make projects .....
all of these cute pot holder patterns makes me wish i had more cottons in my stash! continue to read up on my other knitterly happenings on my blog.

That is so cute! I'm going to have to try to find that booklet, as I love cotton yarns and love to knit stuff for the house.
note: it is all crochet !
I love it! I have a few vintage potholder books I might need to take a look at.
