Warning! Dyeing Stash may be Addictive

Sunrise Sunset Finished!

So I totally expected to love dyeing yarn. I was a bit blown away by how much I loved it. I have a humorous account of everything that went wrong up on my blog, but still I can't wait to try it again. Circumstances conspired against my going to Black Sheep gathering, but I can't say as I was too disapointed. Since Black Sheep was one of my two exceptions for the summer, I traded my $100 budget for Black Sheep for $30 (penance for trading exceptions) of more yarn to dye.

Also, it was nice to put into practice my new philosphy towards clearance. I didn't glance at the novelty yarns in clearance at the front of the store, but instead headed for the back of the shop towards the workhorse yarns. I found some natural yarns on clearance there, and that to me was a true bargain: what I needed and wanted at a great price.

Anyone want to trade some gorgeous stripey yarn for a ball winder? Yarn swift? I will even dye your stash for you and mail it back for one or both . . . I'm thinking I might give up some non-essential organs for these guys. . . . . . . .

I have two skeins of wool I bought (before SOS) just so I could try this. Course, mine are much tinier- 1 3/4 oz each- so hopefully it won't be as difficult as yours were. :)

It is so worth it! Post the results when you try it! I am knitting my first skein up now, I am so in love with it.

That is so beautiful, that dyeing thing. Excellent motivation (going off to see what I have that could be dyed.)
