I have some help...
I have a 15 yo daughter who has not been real interested in knitting. She did attend a beginners knit class last fall and knows how to knit and purl but has not wanted to knit anything.
That is until she got into some typical teenage trouble last week and finds herself without any TV, computer, radio, phone or boyfriend privledges (OUCH! Mom is tough hehe). Yesterday she says "I can't do anything so I might as well knit". She thought she was going to annoy me by saying she was going to pick yarn from my stash. She doesn't know about SOS :-) I just smiled and said sure, go ahead. She picked some peachy yellow ribbon yarn that I had orginally gotten for a wrap of some kind but never got around to knitting it. She is making a garter stitch scarf for her boyfriends mother. She made some good progress on it today and I am hopeful it will use up three balls of yarn from my stash!
I am slowly using up some stash yarn for the fish blanket I am making for my cat and I promise, I am going to start the cabled shrug again soon....
