If I live to be 100...
...and never buy another skein of yarn (yeah, right!), my children will probably still have to hold a yarn sale at my funeral (seriously, they had that inspired idea a few years ago).
Hey, y'all -- my name is Julie. I live out in the country in southeast Missouri, and I have A LOT of yarn! I've been knitting since I was about 10, 32+ years ago. But I don't think I started acquiring stash until about 12 years ago. At first it was just yarn for specific projects, but I was finding more things I wanted to knit than I had time to do. I inventoried my stash a couple of years ago, when I realized it was getting out of control & I no longer knew what I had. But I'm not going to subject you to pictures, and I don't even want to know the yardage! In addition to my project-specific purchases, I have a sock yarn stash (enough for 42 pair, give or take a few), and lace-weight yarn (not counting the yarn for 18 lace projects, ranging from shawls to scarves). Three or four afghans, 18 sweaters, 22 accessories (hats/mittens/bags). Oh, and 16 various works in progress.
So my goals, in addition to not purchasing yarn from Memorial Day to Labor Day, are to finish as many of the WIPs as possible and get started on some of the other projects. Actually, I would consider myself very successful if I just get the WIPs down to a more reasonable number.
I have briefly been tempted by some items I had put in my eBay watch list, but everything in the list has ended and I'm just not going to add new things to it. I do not have a LYS, but I may be travelling near a few yarn shops over the summer. Clearly, though, I do not need any exceptions! Must be strong!
Reward? Money saved, finished items, possibly fewer eyes rolled up in heads around here.

That is an impressive WIP list, never mind a stash inventory. Thanks for joining us!
Lz, you could do as I did....I told my husband in the event of a sudden death to take all my yarn....wind it around the casket in lieu of a floral blanket and send me on my way!!! LOL!!!
