It didn't use as much yarn as I thought it would...
but I'm pretty dang happy with my little sheep puppet!
Even if she does look a little bit...not so smart.
Anyway, this is an Estonian sheep puppet from the Summer 2006 issue of Spin-off, knit with leftover Knitpicks Palette in brown and light pink on #2 Addi Turbos, magic-loop. The pattern calls for something like 88 yards of each color, so it's good for using up little leftover balls. Too bad all the other colors I have are not at all sheep-like. However, with some adjusting to the length of the face, I think this could be made into all kinds of different animals--goats, horses, rabbits, dogs, cats, whatever.
Anyway, I had so much fun with the fair isle that I've decided on my end of summer reward--the Dale of Norway Team USA 2002 pullover kit in the cherry red colorway. Even with all the money I'm saving this summer, it's still a little pricey for me, so I've decided that the Sock Hop yarn exception is out. No Sock Hop for me. Also, I must finish my dad's promised scarf before I can order it. Hopefully that should be enough motivation to get cracking.

It's adorable!
Thanks, everybody!
Manne, the place where I found the kit www.allegroyarns.com is charging $116.95 for the 45" size + $5 for the zipper kit and actual shipping costs from Minnesota to Texas. I don't know if it would be any cheaper to get it from Norway, but if it was it would be awesome! It's incredibly nice of you to offer!
