Confessions of a Knitnik

Hi, my name is Niki, and it's been 51 days since my last yarn purchase. Yes, really! So why do I need a Summer of Stash? Well, 2 weeks before that, I took a trip across the country to see my best friend, and probably spent somewhere around $400-500 on yarn (see a picture of what the 2 of us bought on that trip in my gallery - click on Stash Enhancement). I came back home, and 2 weeks later, had to buy 2 more skeins of sock yarn? Do you see how that could be a problem? I am hopelessly addicted to sock yarn - I'm on something like my 33rd pair of socks, and there is enough yarn left in my stash for 31 more pairs! I believe my DH said it best - how much sock yarn does one person need? Or as my mom said- just how many feet do you have? I've been knitting for 2 1/2 years, and knitting socks for 2 years. I need to slow down just a bit, and maybe knit some other stuff!

My goals:
1. Finish at least 4 pair of socks, not including those currently OTN.
2. Finish ArtFibers sweater currently OTN.
3. Knit tank for OtherMom - promised for Mother's Day
4. Find a pattern for and start LL sweater.
5. Knit at least one purse from stash - either Manos del Uruguay or something else that's laying around!

My exceptions:
1. Yarn purchase for OtherMom's tank - hasn't been picked out, but we will shop together, and I will purchase. Can't get out of this one! Plus - I love her so much, and as I told her before - since it was yarn shopping and knitting, it was both a present for me and a present for her!
2. LL sock yarn that has been ordered by me, but order has not been sent to LL yet by yarn shop. But - I promised I'd buy it, and we put together an order as a group, so there's no getting out of it. It's only $80 worth!

My reward:
Possible trip to CA for Stitches next February. Other than that, who needs a reward? I've got sock yarn!
