Karen's Confessions
Hi everybody! First, I'd like to wish everyone luck, strength, and courage. I know I'm going to need all three to make it all summer. I have been knitting for about 2 years and my compulsive buying that already consumed me spilled into buying yarn constantly. If the yarn stores aren't open when the urge hits me, I find myself at the local craft stores hunting out Lion Brand and Patons, etc. I've recently fell in love with sock yarn, despite the fact that I've only finished one pair. So, without further ado....
My Goals:
-Finish some socks! I am also participating in the Summer of Socks KAL contest, and by no means do I think I will knit the most socks, but I believe it will spur me to finish a few that are on the needles.
-I have three summery tanks/tees in the works which I'd like to finish before summer is over
-Finish the two baby knits I have in progress. One is for a friend who had her baby last Wednesday (no worries, I'm knitting the 6-month size to give me time...I'm no fool). The other is for a friend who is due in August.
My Exceptions:
-I have two knits that are on the needles that I suspect I might run a skein or so short on. If I need any yarn to finish any WIPs, that is allowed.
-I'm participating in many, many KALs this summer, so if any of those require purchases, that is allowed because it is a prior committment. I will not join any KALs just so I can buy the yarn that I would need to participate. In the interest of full disclosure, the KALs I'm currently committed to are: Project Spectrum Sock Yarn Swap, Secret Pal, Dye-o-Rama, Trek With Me, Green Gable KAL, and Summer of Socks.
My Reward:
I don't have anything spectacular planned, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. My one year anniversary is in mid-September, and my husband and I were thinking about going to Vegas. Maybe I can hit up some fab yarn shop in the area to celebrate. Then there is also Stitches East in November, but that's a long time to wait for a reward. (Lolly, maybe I'll see you there!)
So that's it for me. I did want to make a suggestion though....throughout the summer as we all de-stash, maybe we could do some swaps here. That way we could get rid of some stuff that we know we won't use, and score some stuff we will without any money being parted with. That doesn't break the rules, does it?

I love the idea of a swap!
Welcome!!
I love your idea for stash swapping - getting yarn in the mail has to be one of life's simplest great pleasures :) Good luck to you too, we're here for you!
